Year 11 & 12 Tertiary Information Session
Last week, our Year 11 and 12 students travelled to Camperdown for a Tertiary Information Session. They met with various University institutions and gained valuable knowledge about post VCE pathways. Thank you to Mrs Shergold and Mrs Philpot for attending with us.

VCE Outdoor Education
Recently, the VCE Outdoor Education class have been canoeing on the Merri River using the Rakali canoes. We have been canoeing each week for the last three weeks to prepare for our camp early next term. Students have learnt various paddle strokes, capsizing and safety in the canoes, as well as how to pack for a canoe camp.

Year 7
This week, our Year 7 students made delicious crêpes and learned about how they are traditionally served in France.
We explored a variety of savoury topping options, from cheese and ham to vegetables, and discussed how crêpes can be enjoyed as a versatile meal. That said, this week’s class couldn’t resist going the sweet route, with everyone enjoying their creations topped with classic favourites.
It was a fun and engaging lesson, with students building confidence in the kitchen while learning about food from different cultures.
Year 8
This week, our Year 8 boys cooked up a delicious steak sandwich and it was a definite crowd favourite!
It’s been fantastic to see their enthusiasm in the kitchen, especially the range of recipe ideas they’ve been suggesting for this year. Their input is helping shape our menu, making lessons even more engaging and relevant.
The class did a great job developing their cooking skills while working collaboratively and of course, enjoying the results!
Year 9 & 10
This week, our Year 9 and 10 elective Food Technology students rolled up their sleeves and made their own Pizzas from scratch.
The focus of the lesson was understanding yeast and dough rise time and how this impacts the texture and quality of the final product. Students explored how giving the dough time to rest allows it to develop air pockets, resulting in a lighter, fluffier base.
It was fantastic to see students experimenting with different toppings while applying their knowledge of food science in a practical and delicious way. Great work, everyone.
