SUNDAY'S GOSPEL REFLECTION

Luke 23:35-43

Reflection

In Sunday’s Gospel,  Jesus hangs on the cross while people around Him mock and challenge His identity. Yet in the midst of rejection, a single voice rises—the repentant thief who simply says, “Jesus, remember me.” In that moment, Jesus offers one of the most comforting promises in Scripture: “Today you will be with me in Paradise.”

This scene reminds us that Jesus meets us with compassion even in our weakest moments. He does not wait for perfection; He responds to honesty, humility, and trust. As we approach the end of the school year, this Gospel invites us to consider how we can extend mercy to one another—through forgiveness, patience, and kindness—just as Jesus does for us.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus,

On the cross You showed us a love that never fails.

When others mocked You, You offered forgiveness.

When a thief called out to You, You welcomed him with mercy.

Help us to turn to You with humble hearts

and to offer compassion to those around us.

May we bring hope, peace, and kindness into our school community.

Amen.
