VCE VM - Retirement Home Visit

On Tuesday 11 November our Year 11 VCE VM students travelled to Botanic Gardens Retirement Home to participate in their Remembrance Day service. Our College has a long-standing partnership with Botanic Gardens, and they always come along to our own Anzac Day service. It was lovely to return the favour and join them for their own service, commemorating all those that have served on this year's Remembrance Day. The students brought morning tea to share with the residents, including some amazing

'Lest we forget' cookies. We look forward to the next visit.

XPAND - Life skills

This term, students in Year 9 XSPAND undertook Life Skills Week. This week was designed to take onboard student voice by utilising their suggestions to create sessions that they feel are vital for their future. The focus was on equipping students with essential skills to help them navigate life beyond school.

Students engaged in a range of interactive sessions covering topics such as resume writing, CPR and first aid, tax, credit and how to ace a job interview. These sessions provided a hands-on approach, allowing students to practice what they were learning and ask questions in a supportive environment. We were also joined by guest speakers from Talk Money, to provide a deeper insight into a range of financial topics that are relevant as students enter the workforce, as well as Eric Agyeman, who spoke about the power of words and encouraged students to work towards an anti-bullying culture together as a cohort.

Life Skills Week not only enhanced students’ knowledge but also encouraged independence and responsibility, attributes that will benefit students as they move through the Senior School and into their adult lives.
