Literacy: This fortnight we have jumped into the world of BowerBirds by reading the collection of books by Aura Parker. The students have found the species of bird facinating! We have completed some activities and the children have taken their illustration skills very seriously. We will show off some amazing work in the next connect!
In writing we have started to explore poetry by specifically looking at acrostic and cinquain poems. I bet if you asked your child, they would be able to tell you a poem that they wrote! The children have been so creative!

Numeracy: This fortnight has been all about assessment! We have been completing tests, going over content and revising concepts. We have been impressed by all the students' resilience and persistence. We will continue revising until the following week until we move back to learning about 'Number Facts' and then exploring 'Mass and Capacity'.

Inquiry: We continue to delve into the topic of 'First Contact'! This fortnight we have looked at the lives of convicts, looked at Behind the News videos, held discussions and shared thoughts. The students will look at the experiences of different people in the First Fleet and write down facts and information based on what they have learned. Check out the Behind the News episode below!
Wellbeing: This week we completed our identity wheels which was an interesting activity to explore how everyone has unique interests and differences! Next fortnight we will do the following lessons which explores different scenarios and how texts can influence the concepts of individuality!
Last week we were spoiled with the presence of our beautiful grandparents and special visitors. We had a range of activities to complete and it was quite funny to see visitor/student competing to do puzzles, word searches and colouring! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it, we really appreciate your time!
