Monday 27 November, a group of selected students were fortunate to attend a Golf NSW Skills Clinic at the Thurgoona Golf Course practice facilities.
The students enjoyed a variety of activities aimed at improving their game, from honing their putting on the greens, to perfecting their drives on the range, and testing their accuracy using the simulator in the practice nets. Students were instructed by several Golf Pros with in the Golf NSW company, along with a special display to finish the day from Canadian Legends Tour Player Ian Doig. Joel Gatford notable came away with the schools longest drive, hitting 194m with a 7 iron.
Another successful Rugby Union event, coming away with two of a possible three shields. Trinity students from years 7–10 made their way down to Greenfield Park on Friday 24 November. First up was our year 7-8 boys, coached by Veronica Kimball, a strong start in the first half found the Trinity team up by two at half time. A late push from Scots tied the game up, but some late game excellence from the Trinity front row got us over the line late to break the game back open in the final minutes.
The year 9-10 girls followed them out against St Pauls Walla Walla, a team they faced in the round games and only just won by a late conversion. Well, this outcome was significantly different, the girls came out firing, gaining a penalty off the opening tackle laid by Indi Prince resulting in a knock on and translating in the first try of the game. From there the girls went from strength to strength, try’s coming from everywhere. A second half broken leg from our start front rower shook the girls for a little while. However, a full field chase down try saving tackle from Lucy Hocking, not only got us back on track, it also settled her as the games Best and Fairest. Indi Prince was also incredible as captain on the day playing through huge pain.
The year 9-10 boys was the main event of the night, with our resident Rugby head Robert Kelson steering the ship. The boys came out fired up, Lawrence Roth spectacularly retrieving back the opening kick off, leading to star backs Zak Emmet and Cooper Cheng linking up for the first try of the game. The game was jam packed with competitive violence and the size and force of the Catholic College forwards was too much for us to handle. The boys ended up a number of try’s down however their efforts were heroic.
Thankyou to Ryder Murray and Ryan Piltz who ran water for all three teams, along with Ms Veronica Kimball and Robert Kelson who did an incredible job coaching the team.
Trinity as a school was awarded $500 Sports Power voucher for having the best crowd. Thank you to all the students, staff and families who came out to support.

Caleb and Jack Anderson were in Sydney on Monday 27 & Tuesday 28 October for the CIS Cricket Trials. Both boys competed exceptionally, Caleb making it through to day two of the trials, however missing out marginally. Caleb has been nominated for a hybrid country team to go compete against those schools as the state recognises there is a significant amount of great talent missing out.
We look forward to seeing Caleb and Jack competing this summer for the school cricket team.
