Our Year 12s are delighted to have completed their final HSC papers this week! And I’m sure they will be well rewarded for their efforts in their final results.
We very much look forward to seeing them all, along with their families, at the Valedictory Dinner on Friday 14 November at the Albury Entertainment Centre. We will also welcome the Class of 2025 back to the College on HSC results day: 10:30am on Thursday 18 December, when we will enjoy a celebratory morning tea. All Year 12s are invited to attend at this time.
Earlier this week I spent a little time paddling along the Murray River with our Year 9s. This camp is such a powerful, hands-on learning experience designed to build teamwork, communication skills and resilience. Working together to navigate the river clearly strengthens leadership and the need for cooperation while deepening students’ understanding of geography, ecosystems and sustainability. The shared challenge fosters camaraderie and self-reflection, helping students grow in independence and character. More than an outdoor adventure, rafting the Murray offers meaningful lessons about community, environmental stewardship, and personal growth that will stay with students long after the journey ends.

Parents will have noticed the change of name of “Speech Day” in recent years to “End of Year Celebrations”. This has been a conscious decision to move away from, dare I say it, events dominated by a number of speeches and the handing out of prizes to a few students. Rather, we are seeking to showcase the year that was with displays, performances, presentations – with as many students as possible involved in proceedings in one way or another. Whilst we realise these events occur within the working day, we very much hope many parents will be able to attend their child’s Celebration.
