IGSA Gymnastics Carnival

On Thursday 23 October three of our talented gymnasts represented the school at the annual IGSA Gymnastics Carnival. Mia and Brooklyn competed in the WAG (Women’s Artistic Gymnastics) division, while Isabelle showcased her skills in the Rhythmic division.

All three competitors did our school proud, demonstrating impressive skill, focus, and talent across their events. It was amazing to watch each of the girls compete.

Congratulations to Mia, Brooklyn  and Isabelle on their outstanding performances and for being such wonderful ambassadors for Kambala.

Outstanding Showjumping Success for Pippa D Sze

Congratulations to Year 4 student Pippa D Sze on her outstanding performances at the Stonewall Showjumping Championships last week. Competing against some of Australia’s top young riders on highly technical courses, Pippa produced exceptional results across both days of competition.

On the first day of competition, Pippa D achieved a 2nd place finish on Bremer Park Poco Express, and 5th place on Alfonso BMG in the 80cm class. On the second day, she returned to the arena on Alfonso BMG and secured an impressive 5th place in the 90cm class. This result is particularly noteworthy given her rapid progression — Pippa was competing at 60cm height as recently as July at Interschools. To move up 30cm in such a short timeframe is a remarkable rate of improvement and a trajectory rarely seen in equestrian sport.

Congratulations to Pippa D Sze on this fantastic achievement.

Archery Champion

It is always great to see the range of sports Kambala girls engage in outside the classroom. Felicity Wang is a champion Archer, and it is a highly skilled Olympic event that requires hours of regular training sessions. She is to be congratulated on winning a silver medal in the 2025 Archery NSW State Matchplay (Under 14 Recurve Women), held on 11 October 2025.

Vawdon Cup

Last Sunday the prestigious Vawdon Cup Grand Finals were played at NSW Touch Headquarters. Vawdon Cup brings together  the best Touch players in NSW/Australia playing for their representative clubs. It was great to see 5 of our current Senior A players in Grand Finals. Year 9’s Lilyana Bickerstaff and Sophie Ross played in the Youth League Grand Final against Bankstown.

The match was a draw at full time, so the teams had to play a four on four drop off, unfortunately Eastern Suburbs didn’t come away with the win but both Lilyana and Sophie were thrilled to play at the top level. Year 12 Polly Roche and Year 10’s Margot Hindmarsh and Jasmine Ooi played in the Women’s Division 2 Grand Final and were convincing winners 6-3 over Western Suburbs in the Premier league Grand Final for Eastern Suburbs and her team defeated Canterbury 8-6. Our Head Coach Josh Phillips coached the Men’s Premier League winners Parramatta.

And in Breaking News....clickhere to read how Lilyana Bickerstaff is a player to watch by The Daily Telegraph.

IPSHA Gymnastics

On Friday, 24 October, the excitement was high as Mr Doyle, Mr Renshaw, Mrs Athas, and Vicki accompanied 25 of our Junior School gymnasts to Rooty Hill to compete in the annual IPSHA Gymnastics Competition.

Our talented gymnasts represented the school in both WAG and Rhythmic disciplines, performing from early in the morning through to the afternoon. The atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic, with great sportsmanship and team spirit on display.

We are incredibly proud of all the girls for their effort, enthusiasm, and wonderful performances.
