Spooktacular Science at Hampshire House
The atmosphere at Hampshire House was buzzing with excitement and a touch of friendly fright this week as we hosted our very own Spooky STEM Day. Our little pumpkins, skeletons and witches entered our hands-on science lab, filled with spooky science challenges. The children created bubbling potions and fizzy ghosts, enjoying the opportunity to hypothesise, experiment and problem solve.
A highlight of the day was our Dinosaur Dig, where our little palaeontologists carefully excavated ‘skeleton bones’ from the sand, using tools to delicately uncover their spooky delights. Our pumpkin Jack-O-Lantern investigation station was another popular choice, with the children delighting in exploring the texture and structure of the pumpkins, counting the seeds and creating clever carvings.
The Halloween spirit extended beyond our Hampshire House gates to the wider Kambala school community. In a delightful twist on tradition our toddlers went trick-or-treating across the grounds, visiting some of the classrooms where our parents are teachers. They were treated to a special orchestral recital from the music students, went on a haunted discovery tour, engaged in a drama experience and delighted in seeing some of our parents in their professional setting – one of the most memorable treats of all!
