Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,
YEAR 4 ROSES GAP CAMP
Written by Maisy Murphy and Helena Forynska
On Monday 20th October, we arrived at Roses Gap Camp. First we went to Bobs shed and found out our cabins and then went straight to the activities. Our favourite activity the first day was the crate stack and for dinner we had chicken parma, that was our first day.
The next day we did a lot of fun activities. Our personal favourite was the big swing and canoeing and at night we got to watch Despicable Me 2. On the last day it was raining so we didn't have out last two activities but we improvised and played games in Bobs shed. Overall it was amazing! Thank you to all the teachers and parent helpers that came.
FUNKY HAIR FOR KIDS IN CARE
Today our school was full of colour, creativity and some very wild hairstyles as we celebrated Funky Hair for Kids in Care! Students (and a few brave staff members!) showed off their craziest hair designs while supporting an important cause.
We’re thrilled to share that together we raised $226.80, which will be donated to Brophy to support children and young people in care.
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated and joined in the fun.
WARRNAMBOOL PRIMARY SCHOOL CHOIR - SHOW PERFORMANCE
We’re excited to share that our talented Warrnambool Primary School choir students will be performing as part of South West Sing at the Warrnambool Show on Saturday 25th October.
Our choir will take to the stage at 10:15am, showcasing their hard work, enthusiasm and love of music. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform for the community and celebrate the joy of singing together.
We’d love to see families and friends there to cheer them on — come along and enjoy a fantastic morning of local talent!
GOVEMBER LAPATHON – MONDAY 3RD NOVEMBER!
Get ready to move! Students can come out of uniform in their best ready-to-run or walk clothes as we kick off our Govember Lapathon!
Sponsor forms have been sent home — family and friends can sponsor per lap or make a one-off donation to support our students’ efforts!
Hot Food Day will also be running – make sure to get your orders in at the office or on CompassTix https://compasstix.com/.../2d7d3b1e-6a70-4f3f-acd3... by Tuesday 28th October.
There’ll be spot prizes, plus Zooper Doopers and ice creams for $1 to keep everyone cool after all that running!
VOLUNTEER MORNING TEA
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who assist us with our school programs and events. We are having a Morning Tea, on Tuesday 18 November 2025 at 11am in the B.E.R building, in appreciation of the work that our parent and grandparent volunteers have done this year.
Invitations will be sent next week and upon receipt of your invitation, we ask that you let the office know if you are attending.
We have had great support in classrooms, on excursions, camps, at sporting days, School Council, Parents Association, working bees, fundraising events and many more.
FOODSHARE DRIVE
As part of giving back to the community, our JSC have once again organised a Food Share Drive.
Classes are accepting donations from now until Friday 31st October.
Most needed items include; Tinned tuna, healthy cereal, tinned fruit, breakfast spreads, cooking oil, tins of mixed vegetables, UHT milk, bolognese sauce and more.
Collection boxes will be in each classroom and be sure to check use by dates please.
CLASS SEPARATIONS/REQUESTS 2026
As we start creating classes for 2026, we invite you to submit the names of three students you believe your child would benefit from being in a class with in 2026.
Teachers will consider this information in addition to several other factors that create successful classes. While all information is carefully considered, placements are at the discretion of school staff and friendship choices can’t be guaranteed.
Please email or write to your child’s teacher with your child’s three preferences by Monday 10th November 2025. Where no names are received your child’s teacher will make suitable selections on your behalf.
Any separations or other specific requests should be sent directly to warrnambool.ps@education.vic.gov.au and marked attention Principal and not sent to the classroom teacher.
Have a great weekend.
Tonya Ferguson
Acting Principal
