Harmony/Grandparents/Special Friends' Day
It was fantastic to see so many of our students get into the spirit of Harmony Day and dress in orange, red or yellow today. This day has now become even more special with grandparents and special friends being invited to join in the activities for the afternoon. We were thrilled with the turnout, and the kids and visitors were all smiles.
A big thank you to the Parents and Friends who provided tea and coffee as well as treat for our guests. It was a wonderful day had by everyone and it's great to see our community get behind and support this event. Thank you to Troy and the SRC for organising the event for the students. See Troy's Learning News section for more details!
Sustainability fair
I loved seeing so many of our students actively participating in the Sustainability Fair last Sunday. Many of our students volunteered their time to support Environmental Sustainability and put in a huge effort to contribute to their local community.
Thank you to Suzie Tume and Emma Grosvener who put on a school stall with activities for children such as finger knitting, rolled paper necklaces, and lavender bags. They also sold recycled items made by children at school such as t-shirt shopping bags and succulents in painted jars, to raise money for a butterfly garden at school. They made $120 towards this project. We're all excited to see this come to life!
It was also a highlight for our students to meet Wren Gillett from BTN. She loved what our students had to say and hinted she'd love to come and visit our school in the future! 🤞😊
SAPSASA Cricket
On Thursday 13 of our students participated in SAPSASA Statewide Knockout Cricket Competition at the town oval. The students played against Lobethal Primary School on a beautiful sunny day.
The team batted first and scored a total of 3/102. This was followed up by a fantastic bowling performance by all thirteen players restricting Lobethal to 6/77. This means the students will continue with another game to be scheduled against Glen Osmond Primary School before the end of the term.
It was a fantastic effort from our students in Years 4-6 with great support for the whole team and demonstration of great sportsmanship. We are always so proud of our students and the way they support one another in SAPSASA sport!
We hope to see most of you at Learning Discussions next week, where parents/carers and teachers have the opportunity to discuss how students have settled into the new school year and the progress they are making so far. If you have not yet booked in, and would like help doing so, please contact Tracey at the front office and she will be happy to book a session with your child's teacher.
Have a wonderful fortnight, everyone!
