The Grade 6 students have been working hard planning and organising their ‘Sellabration Day’ as part of their Humanities unit. It will take place in Week 10 on Wednesday, April 1st.

The students will be running a variety of stalls on the basketball courts (or in the Grade 6 buildings if it is raining). Students from across the school will be able to bring money and visit the stalls, with all money raised being donated to three charities of their choice.

There will be a range of activities and treats including baked goods, games, a photo booth, pizza, popcorn, juice, and other fun stalls.

Students may bring up to $20 to spend at the stalls. Most items will be priced between $1–$2, with some items up to $8.

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend as well.

We are looking forward to a fun-filled day and are excited to see the students’ efforts support some meaningful causes.

Respectful Relationships Focus

Over the next five weeks, our whole school will be exploring Emotional Literacy as part of the Victorian Curriculum Respectful Relationships program.

Emotional literacy is the ability to recognise, understand and express our emotions in healthy and respectful ways. It also involves developing empathy — noticing and responding to the feelings of others.

When children can identify what they are feeling and why, they are better equipped to manage challenges, solve problems, maintain friendships and engage positively in their learning.

Across all year levels, students will participate in age-appropriate lessons that explore:

Recognising and naming a wide range of emotions
Understanding how emotions show up in our bodies
Exploring how thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected
Developing empathy and perspective-taking
Practising strategies to regulate big emotions

You may hear your child using language such as “I feel…”, “My body feels…”, or “I need…” as they build confidence in expressing themselves.

Working Together With Families

Emotional literacy grows strongest when children see it modelled both at school and at home. You might support this learning by:

Naming your own feelings in everyday moments
Asking your child, “What were you feeling in that situation?”
Talking about how your family manages big feelings
Reading stories together and discussing how characters might be feeling

By strengthening emotional literacy, we are supporting students to build respectful relationships, resilience and a strong sense of self.

Classroom Parent Representatives

Thank you to all of the incredible parents that have already volunteered to be classroom representatives in 2026. These people play an important role in helping classes stay connected socially and up to date with happenings around the school.

New Play Spaces Taking Shape

There has been plenty of excitement around the recent upgrades to our outdoor play spaces. Over the summer break, the Rainbow Playground was upgraded, and two smaller climbing cubes were also installed in the new playground area near the triangle. Both spaces have been well used this term, with students enjoying the new opportunities for climbing, exploring and active play.

This week, work began on the final piece of equipment for the new playground area near the triangle — a Mount Aspiring climbing frame, which will complete the space. Students have loved watching the installation over the past few days and are eagerly looking forward to it being ready to use.

We are very appreciative of the support provided through the North East Link Program’s North East Community Fund, which contributed to this exciting addition to our school grounds.

ADHD parent Support Group

Rosanna Golf Links Primary School is pleased to offer an ADHD Parent Support Group, facilitated by Ann Ee Ching, a Provisional Psychologist who previously supported students and families as the school’s counsellor. Ann Ee brings a warm, empathetic, and neuro-affirming approach to her work, with experience in individual counselling, social skills groups, and high school transition support. She is passionate about working with families navigating ADHD, autism, and other learning needs, with a focus on fostering understanding, strengthening communication, and tailoring environments to suit the unique strengths of each child and their family.

This group provides a supportive space for parents and caregivers of children with ADHD to connect, share experiences, and learn together. It aims to foster a sense of community, helping parents feel less alone in their journey. Guided by evidence-based strategies, the group will explore practical ways to support children at home, focusing on understanding ADHD, building routines that work, improving communication, and creating environments that support each child’s unique strengths and needs. Ultimately, this is a space where parents can feel seen and understood and be equipped to do the same for their child.

Groups are scheduled to begin on Monday, 20 April, starting Week 1 of Term 2, and will run weekly for 8 weeks, with each session lasting 60 minutes.
