Year 7 Picnic

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Year 7 picnic last week!

It was great to see so many of our families come together and enjoy the space on the school grounds in a relaxed and social environment. Students joined in a scavenger hunt which took them on a tour of the various buildings which make up our campus. Some played on our table tennis facilities or enjoyed ball games on the open space of Merri Park. The NHS music program provided a wonderful ambience with wonderful performances and we heard from many students and families who have enjoyed a smooth transition into NHS and a growing sense of community and belonging with the school.

It was a pleasure to meet so many of you and enjoy the evening together.

Congratulations to all of the students who completed the scavenger hunt. Stay tuned, as prize winners will be announced in an upcoming Connect class.

Parents as Partners

Next Wednesday, the 11th March, we are inviting any parents who are new to the school to join us for a presentation evening which will introduce you to some of the school's systems and supports. This evening is aimed at the families of current Year 7 students and will provide some advice on how the school supports social wellbeing, digital learning, and academic performance. You'll have the opportunity to meet some of the school leaders and staff from our Junior Sub-school; work through some common scenarios; and put any questions you may have about the partnership between NHS and the parents and carers in our school community.

5:00pm - 6:00pm in the school library (Hub building)

Please RSVP to jml@nhs.vic.edu.au (Josh Melican, Head of Junior School) by the end of school day on Tuesday 10th if you're planning to attend.

Junior School Toilets

After feedback from students and families, we have decided to allocate toilet spaces especially for our junior school students (Years 7 & 8). This will help ease transition and provide a supportive and safe space. These will be the gym toilets, available just for junior school students during recess and lunch.

Class Decorating Competition

Congratulations to 7F who won our class decorating competition for Plenty House! There was something curious and interactive everywhere you look, including an interactive Green Sheep, green paper cranes, numerous pop culture characters, paper chains and even a living plant!

Well done to all our year 7 classes for their enthusiasm and creativity, it was a difficult decision for judges.

Here they are enjoying the hot chips they won
