2026 Project Compassion
In 2025 we raised over $1000 for Caritas Australia's Project Compassion. We did this through direct donations and our Easter Raffle. The money raised goes towards supporting Caritas Australia's social justice programs to aid those in need. This year's theme is 'Unite Against Poverty this Lent'.
From Caritas Australia: The theme of Project Compassion 2026, Unite Against Poverty, is both a call to action and a reminder that lasting change happens when we work together. Serving those in need is how this call comes alive.
Jesus reminds us that when we care for those who are vulnerable, we are serving Him. Lent invites us to respond through prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
Through Project Compassion, we live out this call together. Alone, we can make a difference, but united, we can transform lives. Join us in 2026 as we Unite Against Poverty and walk alongside our global family.
We listened to one story at Assembly on Friday and will hear more as we progress through Lent. Here is a link to the video we watched at assembly. As an international aid and development agency of the Catholic Church, our engagement in Project Compassion is one way to teach about our Catholic Social Teaching principles and help put them into action. They are:
- Preferential Option for the Poor
- Human Dignity for all
- Care for our Common Home
- Subsidiarity and Participation
- The Common Good
- Solidarity

Division Swimming
Congratulations to both Mikayla Leung and Marlowe Tran who swam in the Division championships at Boorondara Sporting Complex on Wednesday March 4. Both girls progressed through after great swims at the District meet the previous week, and again they swam strong personal times at the Division level. The competition is very strong at this level and it is to the girls' credit that they reached the Divisional stage of the interschool swimming program.
First Aid and Curriculum Day
Today staff completed formal First Aid training and also attended to curriculum planning for the months ahead. Whilst planning is an ongoing process, the opportunity for teachers at the same level to be onsite together to plan collegially is very important and productive. It provides time for greater data analysis and planning for more targeted teaching.
The first aid training was very interactive and staff are now accredited with:
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
