Annual Implementation Plan (AIP)

A school Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) is a 12-month document outlining how a school will implement its School Strategic Plan (SSP) goals. It defines specific actions, roles, responsibilities, and success criteria for improving student outcomes, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and wellbeing. All Victorian Government Schools develop an AIP annually in collaboration with staff and school council.

We are excited to share more about Camelot Rise Primary School 2026 Annual Implementation Plan. This year, we have carefully selected goals informed by student data, staff reflection, and community feedback to ensure our priorities are purposeful and impactful. Alongside these goals, we have identified key improvement strategies (KIS) to build capability and improve student outcomes.

Our priorities focus on:

Goal 1: To maximise learning growth and achievement for all students in Numeracy and Literacy.

KIS: Build the capability of staff to collaborate and analyse data to ensure differentiation and to inform teacher judgements.

Goal 2: To improve engagement and wellbeing for all.

KIS: To enrich the learning climate that promotes challenge, engagement and curiosity.

To achieve these goals, we have identified specific actions and strategies, including redefining our instructional model to align to the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0. This model focuses on the Elements of Learning and the Elements of Teaching. We continue to engage in professional learning, participate in collegiate visits, and reflect on feedback to strengthen our practice.

Teaching and Learning at Camelot Rise Primary School

We believe students learn best when they feel safe, supported, and connected within a calm and orderly environment. Our classrooms are centred on consistent routines, clear expectations, and a sense of belonging. We implement School Wide Positive Behaviours (SWPBS), building our understanding and skills in supporting and nurturing student learning, engagement and wellbeing.

Our teaching is explicit, where new concepts are taught in small, carefully sequenced steps and connects to prior knowledge. Our Instructional Model follows the Gradual Release of Responsibility, with all teachers using this framework to plan their lessons.

The gradual release of responsibility (GRR) model is a structured method of pedagogy centred on devolving responsibility within the learning process from the teacher to the learner. This approach requires the teacher to initially take on all the responsibility for a task, transitioning in stages to the students assuming full independence in carrying it out. The goal is to cultivate confident learners and thinkers who are capable of handling tasks even in areas where they have not yet gained expertise.

Teachers enhance student learning through evidence-based practices, including daily reviews and retrieval tasks, explicit instruction, regular checks for understanding, and guided application. These strategies help students consolidate knowledge in long-term memory while developing confidence, fluency, and the ability to apply their learning independently.

Across Foundation to Year 6 our inquiry investigations and specialist programs focus on developing  core knowledge, skills and strategies. The Victorian Curriculum 2.0 supports this by ensuring content is taught in a logical, cumulative sequence, so students steadily build their understanding over time.

By aligning our goals and key improvement strategies with evidence-based teaching and a focus on wellbeing, we aim to be a connected community where we are all learning, growing and achieving together.

The goal of the Gradual Release of Responsibility Framework is to provide appropriate instruction, moving students towards independence.

Importantly, the GRR Framework does not have to be linear.  Based on instructional objectives, educators may appropriately choose to begin in any part of the framework. Students move back and forth between each of the components as they master skills, strategies, and standards.

Parent Payments 2026

You will notice on your Compass Newsfeed, under Course Confirmation, that the 2026 Parent Payments are now available to be paid. The process on how to pay the charges is outlined in the letter and guide on the Compass Newsfeed.

We thank you for your vital contribution to our voluntary levies, it is greatly appreciated.  Without your contributions we would not be able to offer our extensive and diverse learning programs, purchase the excellent resources we have and improve our facilities.

Parent Payments/Curriculum Contributions – What does it cover?

Victorian Government Schools provide students with free instruction and ensure students have free access to all items, activities and services that are used by the school to fulfil the requirements of the Curriculum.

Once again, in 2026, the student charges are different for each year level.  This is because each year level requires different programs, materials and resources.

Camp. This is a wonderful camp, where the students learn how to surf as well as how to be safe near water, and how to read a rip in the ocean. These are essential skills for all children and adults.

I will also be attending this camp and Ben Heys will be Acting Principal while I am away on this camp.
