Harmony Week

Harmony Week provided a wonderful opportunity for the St Philip’s College community to recognise and celebrate our rich multicultural diversity. It was a time not only to acknowledge our differences, but also to reflect on the many connections that unite us as a community.

The tone was set on  Monday 16 March with a "Harmony-flavoured" International Pi Day, led by the Maths department, which set the tone for a week of fun celebrations.

Throughout the week, students and staff from each house contributed to the creation of our Harmony Chain, showcasing the diversity of our SPC family.

We also enjoyed a Harmony themed Wellbeing Assembly, where students proudly shared their cultural backgrounds, including wearing traditional dress. This was followed by a 'rockin' "Just-Dance-A-Thon", which brought together more than 150 students (as well as a number of enthusiastic staff!) into the hall to enjoy music from around the world.

Harmony Week concluded with our Harmony Day celebrations. Students and staff dressed in orange and traditional attire, enjoyed an international bake sale run by our Junior Leaders, and came together to finish building our Harmony Chain as a visual reminder of our connected community. Bright orange wool was distributed, and flashes of orange could be seen across the school on wrists, bags and in hair.

A sincere thank you to the Round Square Committee and the Junior Leaders for their leadership and enthusiasm in bringing these events to life. We look forward to building on this momentum and making Harmony Week celebrations even bigger in 2027.
