STAR Class
The STAR Class wraps up for 2023
The STAR program has just wrapped up here at Camden High School after another successful year. At the conclusion of Term 3, we farewelled the majority of our students in the class who have moved on to start various traineeships and apprenticeships in childcare, retail, and landscaping. All students in the STAR class have completed their ROSA and have gained valuable experience this year by engaging in work experience on a weekly basis all year.

The students who have returned to school in term 4 have been busy working on various projects around the school, sending out their resumes to potential employers, and practicing their skills for job interviews. They have built three new garden beds for the AG plot, which gave them experience in planning a project, cutting wood, using power tools and working cooperatively.

Our remaining students in term 4 have all now finished up at Camden High School. Two of these students will begin apprenticeships in the landscaping and electrical industries whilst one of our students will begin a pre-apprenticeship course with My Gateway.
The STAR program supported all of these students in gaining their ROSA whilst attending school part-time so they could gain necessary experience to enter various industries, as well as provide the opportunity to complete a stage 5 TAFE course. They sure did pack a lot into one year!
Mr Wallace and the staff at Camden High School wish our STAR students all the very best for their future endeavours.
