Dear Kingswood Community,

The Year 2 students created some amazing cardboard sculptures and did a great deal of learning along the way.

We immersed ourselves in:

• the cool colours vs the warm colours
• new painting techniques such as scraping, twisting, pulling etc
• geometric (maths)shapes vs freeform (nature) shapes
• comparison of different coloured background: black, white, same colour, opposite colour and what effect this had on the sculpture
• creating a 'form'...... 3D shape
• sculptures in our environment eg. those along the freeway that feature shapes such as 'Ellipsoidal' by James Angus

The students did a brilliant job of working independently to create their sculpture, which also showed good 'balance'. So exciting!!!!!
