Principal's Report 

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

K-F Transition Morning

Our Foundation classrooms were buzzing with excitement yesterday morning as we welcomed our new children starting school with us in 2024. We have 62 enrolments currently for 2024 Foundation and each and every child that attended this first session enjoyed some time in our Foundation classrooms, as well as touring the school looking for the green sheep! Our staffroom was also bursting at the seams with 2024 Foundation families - we look forward to offering lots of information and opportunities for these families to meet key staff, including our Foundation teaching staff for 2024 over the coming transition sessions. 

School Values

Our school proudly upholds the Miners Rest K-6 school values across our Kindergarten, OSHC and school, both in learning spaces and in the yard. A big focus is placed on being kind to ourselves and others, respecting everyone and all property and having the courage to make good behavioural choices, as well as have the courage to call out behaviour that does not align with our school values. We ask that our families support our school values and the expectations of the school, kindergarten and OSHC to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all.

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)

A reminder that this service to our families is available from 7:00am each morning and until 6:00pm in the evening. Please understand that we are not licensed to operate outside of these hours during the school term. It is essential to our service that every child is delivered and signed in the morning on arrival at OSHC and, if you are running late to collect your child, that you make arrangements for an alternate person to collect, presenting identification on collection. We know that OSHC is a reliable service for our families, but cannot be offered beyond to families beyond our licensed hours. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
