Ballarat Foundation

Help us bring smiles and Christmas joy to all families in our community this year.

Continuing a tradition that spans over 40 years of generosity, the Ballarat Foundation has launched the Ballarat Christmas Appeal for 2023. Supported by 3BA 102.3FM, the Appeal helps families and individuals who are experiencing hardship by providing vital support and creating a brighter Christmas.

The recent cost of living crisis has impacted everyone with some people in Ballarat facing extreme financial pressure. According to a new survey commissioned by the Ballarat Foundation as part of the Vital Signs program, the survey found

  • More than 50% of survey respondents had cancelled medical appointments due to cost concerns.
  • More than 50% of respondents had struggled to pay for food.
  • The increased cost of living has impacted the majority (81.6%) of respondents’ stress levels.

 Make an impact.

We are calling on the Ballarat community to make a real impact.

Donations collected throughout the appeal will directly benefit local individuals and families in need. You will be able to put food on tables, provide gifts for children and offer a helping hand.

We are aiming to raise more than $100,000 across November and December to support local families in need. Our major community fun run event, Run for a Cause, will be raising funds for the Ballarat Christmas Appeal.

Funds raised from the appeal are distributed to Ballarat charities which are working directly with individuals and families requiring immediate assistance. These charities are The Salvation Army, Uniting Ballarat, St Vincent De Paul, Ballarat and Anglicare Ballarat.

As well as fundraising at Run for a Cause, the Commerce Ballarat Biznet breakfast will also contribute funds to the Appeal. All donations over $2 to the Ballarat Christmas Appeal are fully tax deductible and funds will be distributed directly to the partnering charities.

Together, we can make Christmas a little brighter for those who need it most.
