Soirée Primavera

Congratulations to all students involved in our final Soiree for 2023 last Thursday evening.

I was delighted to see a large contingent of performers from Year 7: Paddy Humby (cello), Arden Kloiber (violin), Ruby Minter (flute), Clare Stewart (clarinet) and Simeon Gee (piano), and from Year 8: Olivia Laws (voice). Representing the Year 9 musical cohort were Noah Yin (violin), Alex Stewart (trumpet), Ruby Gale (voice) and Elizabeth Isbister (violin). Year 10 Music students Frankie McNair (flute) and Evie Pritchard (flute) performed whilst Ivy Downes (voice), Emily Monks (voice and guitar) and Orlando Aguirre (voice and guitar) represented Year 11. 

The evening featured a range of diverse, entertaining and accomplished performances and brought to a close a fabulous 2023 Soirée program. 

Thank you to our newly appointed Music Captains, Samuel Gander and William Louis who compèred the evening magnificently and to Nathan Hilder, AV Captain, for his excellent work at the sound desk. 

Music Camp 2024

Members of all Co-Curricular Music Ensembles are invited to attend the 2024 Music Camp at The Y Camp Yarramundi from 5-7 April 2024. 

Music Camp provides a valuable opportunity for our music ensembles to enjoy themselves while getting a head start on learning new repertoire for our 2024 performances. Attending camp is also a great opportunity for our musicians, including those in Year 7 or new to BMGS, to get to know other students and feel part of the co-curricular music team. We extend a particular invitation to other students who play an instrument and/or sing and who are interested in joining an ensemble in 2024 – come along and see what it is all about!  Stay in touch with all details via MyBMGS, which will be updated shortly.

Rehearsals for Presentation Day

 All Music Ensembles are currently rehearsing repertoire for Presentation Day performances on Wednesday 6th December. Students are expected to attend all rehearsals in Term 4. Please inform the relevant staff member in advance if you are unable to attend.
