Reconciliation Action Plan

In January 2023, Magill OSHC published the first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). Our RAP is built on our vision for reconciliation in everything we do as a service. We acknowledge adding the RAP actions to our curriculum and daily learning plans. We are working on building connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. In addition, we are working actively towards educating children and educators about reconciliation and its actions.

Vision For Reconciliation

A Vision for Reconciliation is an overarching, aspirational statement that provides an opportunity to publicly articulate to the wider community what reconciliation means to your school or early learning service, and what it is that motivates your commitment to reconciliation. Magill OSHC believes that reconciliation is about building relationships with the community to gain a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, perspectives and experiences. Our vision is to respect the diversity of First Nations peoples and support inclusion in our school community. We work to build respectful relationships with the Kaurna people and facilitate experiences to deepen our understanding of Kaurna peoples’ cultures, histories and perspectives to respectfully embed this knowledge in our school.

It is our goal that we learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritages meaningfully and respectfully. We believe in educating ourselves, children and families about the histories and perspectives of Kaurna people through various accessible resources and conversations.

Acknowledgment Statement

Magill OSHC acknowledges the Land of Kaurna people on which we live and learn each day. We pay respects to Elders past, present and young leaders of tomorrow. We respect the spiritual relationships of the Kaurna people with Country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people are the Traditional Custodians of the Adelaide region and their cultural heritage and beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.

Please contact Kulwinder Kaur for any questions or to get involved in our Reconciliation journey.

Carpark Reminder

We would like to remind families that the OSHC carpark is strictly for staff only - unless you require disability parking. This is for any time of the day, and all-weather conditions. This is due to safety concerns to ensure that no children are walking through the carpark with reversing cars and to avoid congestion with school and OSHC staff arriving/leaving for the day.

We have also noticed some parents speeding into the carpark which is extremely unsafe.

There is ample parking available on Magill Road as well as at The Tower Hotel, so please park there and enter via the gate and pathway when dropping off or collecting your child/ren from OSHC.
