Leadership Report

I don't know about you, but today's hot weather was certainly a shock to my system, and for a lot of our students here! It's a good reminder to make sure your child has their hat clearly labelled (when you can't play outside without one, they become a form of currency!), and a drink bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. We've got lovely refrigerated cold water stations for refilling bottles throughout the day in both Junior Primary and Primary areas, so please encourage your child to drink lots, and refill their bottle.

As we hit the half way mark for the short term, it's important to keep up with all the communication that will be coming out from the school and classroom teachers. Whole school communication will be sent via email to the address you have provided us, and class specific communication will be shared via the SeeSaw app. Make sure you have notifications switched on so you are made aware when new messages are shared, and to be vigilant in keeping on top of your email inbox.

Next week we have our Year 3 to 5 students participating in the school swimming program. If your child is attending swimming, please ensure every piece of clothing, their towel, swimming goggles and anything else that will go with them to the pool is labelled clearly with their name. If your child does misplace something, the lost property area at the bottom of the stairs in the Murray building will be the best place to start looking. It's also a good idea to add some extra food into lunchboxes next week as swimming is exhausting work and many students need more fuel to replenish their systems.

Sometimes the stars align and they certainly did this week during our rescheduling efforts for the Instrumental Music Concert. With the new date of Thursday 23rd November, we look forward to sharing the great work our students have achieved this year in Instrumental Music. Year 3 students will get a preview of the concert during the day to introduce them to the instruments available as part of the learning program, in readiness for potentially entering into the music program in 2024 as a year 4 student.

A reminder about dropping off your children in the morning: our staff are on duty from 8.25am each morning, monitoring the school site and the crossing points on the roads around our school. Students are not to be on site prior to this time without parental supervision. If your child walks or rides to school, please ensure that they aren't leaving too early, and consequently arriving at school before supervision takes place. If you need to drop your child at school earlier, please book them into our fantastic OSHC service where they can spend time with friends, eat breakfast, and enjoy the morning.

Finally, we know this weekend is a highlight of many of our families calendars, as they celebrate Diwali with friends and family. We wish you all joy and prosperity, and good wishes for the year ahead. Happy Diwali!
