Kiss and Go - New signage on Silver St

To further enhance the safety and efficiency of our school's drop-off and pick-up procedures, the City of Kingston Council has installed brand-new 'Kiss and Go' zones along with 'No Standing' signage on Silver Street. Please be advised the council have informed us that they will be sending out traffic/parking inspectors from to time to time to ensure everyone is adhering to the new signage.

What is the 'Kiss and Go' Zone?

The 'Kiss and Go' zone is a designated area where parents and caregivers can safely drop off or pick up their children from school. It is designed to be a quick and convenient way for parents to ensure a smooth transition for their students as they arrive or depart from school.

The Benefits of "Kiss and Go"

Safety: The new 'Kiss and Go' zone enhances the safety of our students. By reducing congestion, we can ensure that children are safely dropped off and picked up.

Efficiency: With the  'Kiss and Go'  zone, the drop-off and pick-up process will be faster and more streamlined. This means less waiting and a smoother experience for everyone.

Less Traffic Congestion: The 'Kiss and Go' zone, along with 'No Standing' signage, will significantly reduce traffic congestion on Silver Street, making it a safer and more pleasant experience for all road users.

No Standing Signage

In addition to the 'Kiss and Go' zone, we have installed "No Standing" signage on Silver Street to further improve traffic flow. These signs indicate that vehicles are not allowed to stop or park along Silver Street during school drop-off and pick-up hours. This will help keep the traffic moving and create a safer environment for all.

The new 'Kiss and Go' zone and 'No Standing' signage are essential improvements that will benefit our entire school community. We encourage everyone to use this area responsibly and ensure a safe and efficient drop-off and pick-up experience for all.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together to enhance community safety.

2024 Foundation Transition

I am pleased to share the excitement and joy from our first transition for our 2024 Foundation students. During this session the students explored the enchanting world of 'Elmer the Elephant' through story time and a follow up craft activity. The story of Elmer the Elephant is not just about his colorful patches but also about celebrating our uniqueness and diversity.

The first transition session for our 2024 Foundation students was a beautiful introduction to their journey at our school. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on their faces as they made their first friends, shared their thoughts on Elmer's adventures, and expressed their unique personalities through art.

We look forward to more exciting adventures, learning, and growth with these young learners as they attend future transition sessions this year, and then officially join our wonderful school community in 2024. Our promise is to nurture their curiosity, celebrate their individuality, and provide them with a loving and supportive environment for their educational journey.

Thank you to the parents and carers who joined us for this special day, and a huge round of applause to our Foundation teaching team for their preparation in ensuring the day was a huge success for the students.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Regards,

Robert Ridgway
