ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8.30am for a Traditional Service and 10.00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for Primary School aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services.

REFORMATION

DID YOU KNOW? Reformation Day is October 31 every year. This day is celebrated in the Lutheran church to remember the work of Martin Luther and all the reformers and their contributions to the faith. Working hard can achieve a lot in this world, but the Bible tells us that our good works can’t make us right with God.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is a gift from God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Playgroup @ St Paul is on each Tuesday during term time in the Hall.  We welcome people anytime from 8.30 onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9-10.30 each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family.  We offer a simple craft, a sensory activity and read a book related to a different theme each week.

This week we made spoon and pipe cleaner ants at the craft table and dug in the sand in the sensory play space. Next time you’re walking along the corridor between the school and the hall, you will see a display of what we have been doing at Playgroup this year.

Next week we will be celebrating the way people are different but the same with the Mem Fox book ‘Whoever You Are’.

GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

This week the in the Bible readings, Jesus was asked the question about what is the greatest command in the law and Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.” This is the first and most important command.  And the second command is like the first: “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39).

Instead of having a long list of rules to follow, Jesus focused on an outlook that is centred on loving God and our neighbour.  To put God first and to treat others as we would like to be treated.

Mealtime Prayer:

Heavenly Father, good and great, thanks for all that’s on our plates. Amen.

Prayer:

Lord God, thank you for saving us through faith in Jesus. Help us to trust in him and not our own efforts. Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s Name) May you trust in Jesus Christ, your Saviour.  Amen.
