Heads of Year

Orientation Day, Homework Help, Year 9 Camp

Year 7 & 8

Next week we will welcome our 2024 Year 7 students into the school. They will be participating in a range of fun activities across two days with the purpose to introduce them to the future cohort, some of their teachers, Heads of House, Head of Year, as well as our wonderful 2024 Student Guild members who will be supporting the program. The format and excitement around these ‘transition days’ will be familiar to our current Year 7 and 8 students, who would have themselves participated as apprehensive Year 6 students not so long ago. I hope that they demonstrate kindness and inclusivity towards these new members of our school community.

The start of November is a reminder of just how quickly an academic year can pass, particularly in the life of a busy and involved Year 7 or 8 student. With just six weeks remaining in Term Four, students are encouraged to remain focused during classes and ensure they are putting the required effort into completing their assessments. This will see them achieve results in line with their ability and ensure a strong finish to the school year.

A reminder that Homework Help runs in the Library Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school until 4.30pm where subject teachers are available to answer questions about homework and provide direction with research tasks.

Year 9 &10

With the end of Week 4 upon us, we now only have 5 weeks left of the school year with so much more to do. Our Year 9s and 10s have started the term off well and are all enjoying the sunshine and warmth.

Year 9 students are reminded that camp forms need to be handed in to PCG teachers by Monday 6 November as their camp to Forest Edge in Waroona is fast approaching. If there are any concerns, please get in contact with Mr Sloan.

Year 10s have been putting in the hard yards staying after school to study or receive help from their class teachers. It is great to see them working hard in preparation for their Semester Two exams.

Parents and students are reminded to check SEQTA as they may be receiving feedback or have teachers communicating to them through this platform.

Students are reminded that they can only arrive in school in their PE uniform if they have a PE class in Period 1. If students have a PE, Outdoor Education, or Active for Wellbeing class after Period 1 they need to arrive at school in their summer uniform and then get changed before their class. Students will also need to get changed back out of PE into summer uniform unless they have those classes during Period 6.
