Annual Art Exhibition

Celebrating art and design

Showcase in the city

The annual Art Exhibition in its new venue at 140 St Georges Terrace was a lovely evening of celebration of Art and Design at St George’s. After three terms of dedicated work and several weeks of final preparation the artworks came together in a vibrant and thought-provoking display. Although the smaller space required the exhibition to be by selection only, students from across years 7-12 were well represented.

The difficult job of selecting prize winners was made by Mrs Campbell and School Council. After much deliberation this year’s winners are:

Principal’s Prizes:

Senior: Isabel Harper: Year 12 Apex Collage - ‘Escapism’

Junior: Chloe O’Gorman: Year 10 Skateboard - ‘Exmouth Experience’

School Council Award: Eliana Roscoe Year 11 ATAR - Oil on Canvas - ‘Set Me On Fire’

The People’s Choice Award will be determined once all votes are counted after the show concludes this afternoon. Announcements for this will be made at a future assembly.

In a gesture of service and continuity, the outgoing Art Captain Katelyn Barr presented Emily Muir our Arts Captain for 2024 with a gift as a symbol of continuity and service to the Arts at the School.

In addition to my thanks on the night are a few more words of gratitude.

Much gratitude to our new corporate partners Centuria Limited for generously providing the space.

The catering was supplied and subsidised by Marissa and Adam at Daxxi 140, the super little cafe onsite at 140 St Georges Terrace.

The music for the evening really enhanced the ambience and was confidently presented by Sadie Tibbitts, who did a tremendous job. Thank you, Sadie!

Thanks to all the hardworking Visual Art and Design students who without all their hard work during classes the Art Exhibition would not be possible.
