Computer Support News

From the IT Department

Computers are an essential part of our daily lives, and we use them for various purposes such as school work, entertainment, and communication. However, computers can sometimes have issues that can be frustrating and time-consuming to fix. Here are some common IT computer use issues and their fixes:

  •  Frozen. Most common issues may be the screen or device is not responsive, really slow or locks up completely. You can try restarting the device. (Not turning it off and on or just closing the screen.)

It’s good practice to do a RESTART every few days.

  •  Updates. Allow your device to download & install updates particularly Microsoft Windows. This keeps your device up to date with the latest software mods & device drivers.

3.  Slow Computer: A slow computer can be caused by various reasons such as malware, outdated software, or insufficient RAM. The minimum RAM requirement for MNSC currently is 8 Gb. Running multiple programs such as games & videos in the background while trying to do schoolwork will consume the RAM quickly, slowing everything down.

Computers are complex machines that require proper maintenance and care to function correctly. By following these simple solutions listed above, you can troubleshoot common IT computer use issues yourself without having to run to the I.T. office every time your PC ends up with an issue.
