Further Football
The football awards for former students continues. It has been brought to my attention that former student Darcy Gardner (SVC 2016 -19) was the joint winner of the William Leitch Medal for 2023. This is the medal awarded to the best & fairest player in the SFL (Southern Football League).
Darcy plays with Brighton and shared the award with Sheldon Smith of the Lindisfarne Club. Previous Old Virgilian winners of this award: Geoff Kilmartin (1940), Matthew Jones (1999 & 2002), Brock Ackerley (2004), Nathan Ross (2011 & 2013) and Mitch Walker (2019).
