A HUGE thank you to all of the students who applied for leadership positions this year.  All of the students worked hard and their speeches were well presented and we were so impressed with the level of work put in to their speeches.  For those who missed out on Captains and House Captains, there will be a number of other leadership positions on offer in 2025 and we hope that students apply for these.  These  include SET, SCC and peer mediator positions. Stay tuned for further information.

Uniform Etiquette - Your support is appreciated

We all know how challenging it can be keeping up with the uniform items required for students to attend school.

At CSPS we try our best to support families with keeping on top of this in a number of ways.

How CSPS try to help:

  • We DO NOT have 'Lost Property', we have a process where items are monitored, checked and returned to students if named.
  • Items with no identification or illegible handwriting are circulated back into the 2nd Hand Uniform stock and sold to families at a reduced cost.  All funds raised go towards the annual Yr6 graduation.

How families can help:

  • Check items that come home to ensure they in the correct household.
  • If a student has brought home someone else's property by accident, we ask that you return it asap, chances are someone is looking for it.
  • Donations are greatly appreciated!  If you do donate items that you no longer require, please remove your personal labels prior to donating them.
  • If you have purchased 2nd hand uniform, please ensure you clearly mark the name of the new owner.

By following these few simple steps we will be able to continue to help each other out and and hopefully have minimal lost items for all.

New webpage to help families and students prepare for a new school year

A new school year is an exciting time for students and families, but it can be a big step – particularly for those starting Prep or moving to secondary school.

The Department of Education has published a webpage with resources and information to help you prepare for the new school year.

During the school holidays, please consider reading through the resources, which include:

· tips to help transition between kinder and Prep and primary to secondary school

· what to expect at school

· help with school costs and fees

· health and wellbeing guidance to support children’s mental health. Please refer to the New year of learning webpage.

End of Year Wrap Up

A huge thank you to the CSPS community for welcoming me so warmly this term.  I am absolutely loving being a part of the school and am loving getting to know you all.

A huge amount of planning has been put in by the staff and leadership to ensure a strong direction for 2025 and beyond, and we look forward to the positive impact on student learning for your children.

Transition day was a hit for the students and staff, and I know that they are all excited about a positive 2025.

Thank you for your support and the lovely chats with families throughout the term.  I can't wait to keep learning about all of you throughout my time at CSPS.

Both Mrs Halket and I would like to wish all of our families a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday.e look forward to seeing you all at the end of January for another positive year ahead.

Merry Christmas,

Cate
