The End of Year 12

This week has marked the momentous end of mandatory attendance for the Year 12 cohort.

With a loud and messy Celebration Day and a costumed Celebration Week, the Year 12s of 2024 have definitely left their mark on Heathmont in the best way.

Popular sentiments throughout the cohort are expressions of relief that the long year is over, with several students nodding along to a 'Yay! I'm done!' when asked how they have felt this year by this reporter.

Similarly, one student expressed that: 'it's been a hard slog, but I think it's been worth it. It's been nice to connect more with the year level and the teachers this year.'

In their final assembly, the Year 12 Captains delivered speeches to the whole school, with messages for their teachers and students to hold on to, as well as memories from the 6 years that they have spent as a part of Heathmont College. Mr Meagher, Mr Hunter, Mr Chappell, Miss Sandford, Mr Russell and Ms MacDonald all gave fantastic speeches for the cohort, wishing them all the best in the future and recalling some of their own favourite memories throughout the years.

The Gazette Team congratulates the Year 12's on working so hard this year to get where they have gotten and wishes them all the best for the exam period and years ahead.
