FUN, FAITH & PIZZA AT ST AIDAN'S FAMILY PARISH MASS

St Aidan’s families are having a Family Mass on Saturday 23 November at 5pm followed by a light pizza supper. 

 

The children will be singing a John Burland song called Firm in Faith at the end of Mass. They will lead us in the actions that the Mini-Vinnies students have taught them. The children and their parents are also invited to read the Prayers of the Faithful during Mass. 

 

If you would be interested in reading a Prayer of the Faithful with your child please email the school office.

ADVENT WREATH PRAYER KITS 

Exciting News! We have a beautiful gift for YOU! Prepare the way for the Season of ADVENT starting December 1st. 

 

The Advent Wreath Prayer kit is coming home soon and can be used as a count down to Christmas Day. Advent Prayer preparation with prepare your hearts and souls for a peaceful and blessed time and a true celebration. Gather the family together and start using this on the First Sunday of Advent, i.e. 1st December.

 

Put the Advent Prayer Wreath and candles in a special place. This might be beside the Christmas Manager or Christmas tree. Choose a convenient time, such as before or after a family dinner, or before bed, to light a candle and pray together on each Sunday of the Advent Season. Christmas day is the celebration of the birth of Jesus - God’s great outpouring of love. Wishing all our families a joyful Christmas and many blessing during this Holy Season.

We our gifting families an Advent Calendar that focuses on well-being activities, gratitude and acts of kindness. Put it on the fridge and get daily ideas of how to maximise well-being in your family!

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS AT THE CATHEDRAL 2024

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas Lights at the Cathedral is from 12th to 25th December 2024. Please make it a “must see” to experience the excitement and wonder of this beautiful season. The season that Christ is born.

FINDING GREATER PEACE

Most adults in our busy world today carry mild to moderate stress-levels daily. Too much prolonged stress can result in a more serious condition called burn-out. Burn-out can take several years to recover from.

 

We invite you to come along to engage in well-being topic discussions as a group. We understand how busy everyone is so please feel free to come along to the weeks that suit you. Together we will study a Chapter from the book, ‘Reducing Stress and Finding Peace’, Patrick Collins CM. We are hoping this will help to support your wellbeing.

 

We will reflect on the book ‘Reducing Stress and Finding Peace’, and an audio series of talks to unpack what stress is, the impact of stress on our health, experiencing burn-out and other topics such as:

  • Symptoms of stress and Burn-out 
  • Sabbath rest and when it’s time for a Sabbatical
  • Various Relaxation techniques
  • How to Breath to reduce anxiety

RELAXATION AND MEDITATION WITH YOUR CHILD

Please make the time to join us so that you can learn this practise  and routine as a family.

 

We will teach your child a relaxation technique,  prayer and meditation that will help their well-being and faith to grow. If you can come along, you too can also learn a valuable tool of relaxation and meditation that will help your well-being and the well-being of your family. Check the timetable below for your child’s class dates and lock it into the diary.

INVITATION TO FRIDAY CLASS MASS 

Students will be attendingClass Mass at Holy Family Church with their teacher throughout the term and we would love you to join them. Students who are reading a  ‘Prayer of the Faithful’ will be given these prayers to bring home and practice.If your child is reading a prayer we would love you to read with them if you are available.

 

We will be offering hospitality after Mass so parents and grandparents can enjoy a coffee together and meet new and old friends.
