WRITING
We are close to completing our Persuasive Writing Unit where the students have been following the writing process to develop their writing skills and researching topics they are passionate about. We have also been focusing on Descriptive Writing where we, as writers, have been practicing describing the image that we want the reader to gain so our writing is interesting and full of colour!
READING
It has been so pleasing to see how well all of our students have developed with reading throughout the year. We will finish the year to continue to read in small groups where we share a book, and complete our shared class text and associated activities for our study.
NUMERACY
The students have been working diligently on practicing problems that have more than one operation( addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and what order that they need to be performed in so they can achieve the correct answer. These problems have become increasing difficult over the past two weeks and it has been pleasing to see how determined our budding mathematicians have been throughout this learning experience!
INQUIRY
Inquiry in Term Four is an exciting one! Students will be investigating contemporary economic and business issues and events. They will apply economic and business reasoning and interpretation to solve problems and understand the behaviour of participants in the economy. Students will understand how decisions will shape their future and think critically about their opinions.
WELL- BEING
This term students will continue to work on the core principles of the Berry Street Education Model, which focuses on creating a trauma-informed and strength-based approach to support students' emotional and social development. By fostering resilience and self-regulation, this model equips students with the skills to navigate challenges, ultimately enhancing their academic success and personal growth.
Students will also engage in tasks related to real-life scenarios and themes that may impact them as they approach adolescence, allowing them to develop critical thinking and coping strategies in a supportive environment.
