Myall Creek

On Tuesday, October 22nd, our school had the honor of taking 17 students to Myall Creek for the first day of the Catholic Schools NSW Conference, themed "Spirit on Country." This year, our diocese is proudly hosting this significant event, and our students played a vital role in day one.

Our students opened the conference with a moving Welcome to Country song, which was beautifully accompanied by sign language, creating a powerful visual experience.

The conference then transitioned to a meaningful memorial walk, where various groups from different schools were stationed at each plaque. Each group shared stories of the Myall Creek massacre, recounting the tragic events in both language and English. Our students were stationed at Plaque 1, where they confidently recited the story in unison to each of the seven groups of around 70 people, contributing to an audience of approximately 500 attendees.

We are incredibly proud of our students for their exceptional performance and the dedication they demonstrated in preparing for this important event. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive, with many commending their hard work, speaking abilities, and respectful demeanor throughout the day.
