Bottle, Can & Container Recycling

Container Deposit Scheme in Victoria

The 10 cent Project has been going very well and we wanted to provide a quick update about what has been happening.

For the past few months we have been emptying bins and sorting cans, bottles and cartons out. We have also gone to Lalor Plaza a couple of times and raised a LOT of money.

We have raised  $149.50 so far.

This means we have recycled 1495 cans bottles and cartons!

Well done everyone for giving bottles, cartons and cans to our school.

Without your donations a lot of bottles, cartons and cans would have just gone to landfill

BUT we also have to talk about things that don’t go in the 10 cent bins:

For students -

We don’t put yogurt packets, paper and wrappers in our bin, the bins are for bottles, cartons and cans.

For teachers  -

Please don't put coffee cups and milk or juice cartons in the 10 cent bins.

The machine doesn't take coffee cups or big milk cartons or big juice cartons.

For everyone -

You need to make sure the carton, cans and bottles are empty because the 10 cent machine doesn't accept filled or partially filled cartons.

Please DO NOT squish your cartons, bottles and cans, the 10 cent machine doesn't accept squished up cartons, bottles and cans.

In December there will be a certificate for the year levels who have recycled most bottles, cartons and cans

We hope you all can keep it up and keep filling the 10 cent bins with 10c bottles, cartons and cans. Thanks for your ongoing support of our project.
