St Michael's Play Spaces

Dear families
I write to you today with great excitement about a project that I know has been a long awaited one for our school community. I understand that for many years it has been a great desire of our parent community and a focus of our fundraising efforts that our basketball / netball courts and carpark area on the Victory Boulevard side of our property be upgraded. After initial investigations into levelling the ground and resurfacing with an acrylic coating were far beyond our reach, our more recent research into asphalt resurfacing and repainting of lines and games on these courts is much more within our budget.
Hence, during these upcoming Summer holidays (13th and 14th January), some of the generous funds that have been raised by St Michael’s families over the years will be put towards a resurfacing of this space. This will create a fresh, much smoother, safer surface on which our children can play each day and where local clubs might look to for their training sessions.
Additionally, early in the new school year, there will be new four-square courts painted; a current favourite of many of our children, and some new hopscotch line markings. Our children will return to the 2026 school year with a smooth fresh new surface with paint works being undertaken within the first few weeks.
I take this opportunity to thank our School Advisory Committee and Parents and Friends Association for their input and support in gathering information for this project. The PFA has continued to raise funds over these last couple of years with a focus on improving our play spaces and we are grateful for their commitment and efforts. I also acknowledge those families who have gone before us in their fundraising efforts and their goal to improve this space in the school. I’m proud to finally be able to make this a reality!
Thank you
Annie
Please note, families attending TheirCare on these days will need to access the Support room via the Staff Carpark. Signage will be available on these days.
