Last Thursday, our enthusiastic Prep cohort set off on an adventure to The Hive. Our young learners transformed into mini art critics in the Art Gallery, thoughtfully choosing their favourite artworks and sharing what they loved about them. Their curious minds explored fascinating displays in the Museum before settling in for an out-of-this-world experience watching “3, 2, 1 Blast Off!” in the Planetarium.
The fun didn’t stop there—at the Science Centre, students designed, built, and raced their very own cars, cheering each other on during some very speedy competitions. We wrapped up the day with lunch and a play in the sunshine at the Dinosaur Park. It was a wonderful day filled with creativity, discovery, and lots of happy smiles!
The best thing about going to the Hive was making the fast cars with feathers, rocks and wood and I also liked the movie. - Amos B.
I liked visiting the Art Gallery and going to play at the Dinosaur Park - Mariama W.
My favourite part was making the cars and racing our cars down the track. - Maisie W.
I really liked the planetarium where we watched the movie about a hamster and got to learn about Science. - Parker C.

What an incredible term for our Year 6 students! From the excitement of Canberra Camp to a graduation dinner filled with laughter, great food, and unforgettable dance-floor moments, the celebrations have only continued. Our celebration day began with a delicious breakfast and wrapped up with friendly competition at the bowling alley—this class has truly made the most of every moment. Now, with the upcoming graduation assembly just around the corner, we celebrate not only everything they have achieved but also the bright futures ahead as they step into Secondary. Thank you to everyone in our school community who helped make this final term of Primary so special. Here's to the Class of 2025—well done, Year 6!

DCS Primary are blessed to participate each year in a huge community Christmas tree decorated with panels painted by local children. This year our Year 5/6 students focused on the gift of Emmanuel, God with us.
