Grade 6 Robotics Day

On November 25th, the Grade 6 students headed over to the Bendigo Tech School at LaTrobe University to take part in our annual Robotics+Tech day.
The Tech School is a key STEM centre (one of 10 across Victoria) that involve high school students in projects to do with science, technology, engineering and maths. At the end of each year, they open their doors to Grade 6 students as part of their transition to high school and to get a fun sneak peak of what the centre does. Students participated in four different activities; green screen video production on the iPad, coding a robot to draw patterns and shapes on a whiteboard, coding a Codey Rocky to drive around and a design task to give instructions to a team member to recreate your LEGO design using only voice commands.
It was a very engaging and fun day! A big thanks goes out to the Bendigo Tech School for kindly hosting us for 2025.
Parents have an important role to encourage their children to stick with science and maths for as many high school years as possible (both boys and girls), to help set them up for successful career options in the future.
