Respectful Relationships

THIS WEEK - Community Walk Against Family Violence - Friday Nov 28 - WEAR ORANGE
This Friday November 28 will be an out of uniform day for a gold coin. The theme is ORANGE as part of our Community Walk Against Family Violence, so find anything in your cupboard - hat, tshirt, high vis vest, scrunchy, mask, dress etc. Proceeds will go to the Orange Door, as decided by our wonderful SRC.
Tuesday November 25 marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence. This global movement is an opportunity for people across every community to unite and take action to help prevent and eliminate gender-based violence.
The campaign runs for 16 days, beginning on the 25th of November until the 10th of December. Over the next 16 days, events and activities will be held all across Gippsland and Victoria to raise awareness and make it clear that gender-based violence is not tolerated in our communities. Across the 16 days LPS students will be participating in short daily activities, such as reading books, watching videos and having discussions around gender equality, bystander action and respect for all. We hope these discussions can spark a conversation at home too.
Currently Gippsland is one of the most unsafe places for women, children and gender diverse people, who experience violence at a higher rate than the rest of Victoria. We encourage you to get involved in the campaign and come along to our Leongatha Education Precinct Community Walk Against Family Violence on Friday November 28 Come on down to the Leongatha Primary School ovals, wear some orange and join us at 11:30am on Friday to walk together!
