                  AROUND THE SCHOOL

ATTENTION ALL FAMILIES

If your child is attending St Patrick's but is not a Catholic, could you please let your child's teacher know ASAP.  We are about to begin our Sacramental Programs and need this information so as to best support and include all our students.

2ND HAND UNIFORM STALL

Next Monday, 31st March there will be another 2nd hand uniform stall on the hall deck from 3pm.  It's a great opportunity to stock up on Winter uniform pieces for Term 2.  All items are $5 and it's strictly cash only.  Once again all proceeds go directly to St Vincent De Paul.

Drew Lane Returns

On Monday morning, Drew Lane returned to our school once again, this time to collaborate with our senior choir on recording our new school song. It was incredible to see how quickly the entire process came together! Drew was highly impressed with the students and expressed his appreciation for the expert guidance of Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Earle. Once the final mixing is completed in the recording studio, we’ll soon be able to enjoy this fantastic song in all its glory. Excitingly, Drew hopes to feature it on his seventh album, set for release next year! He was so impressed with our students that he even hinted at involving the choir in future projects he has in the works.

Parish Children’s Choir

Speaking of Mrs. Earle and the incredible legacy of talented singers she nurtured, she is now dedicating her time to a new passion—the Parish Children’s Choir. Open to students aged 8 to 16, the choir will hold 45-minute rehearsals every Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 pm in the Parish Choir Room, starting on April 23rd. There is no cost involved, and Mrs Earle envisions the choir will perform once a month at the 5pm Sunday Parish Mass.  Please see the attached flyer for more details.

Project Compassion

As Lent continues, so too does our commitment to prayer, fasting and almsgiving here at school where we strive to be the good news for the poor.  Students in all year levels have been learning about how to put their compassion into action this Lent.

Through Caritas Australia's resources, we have been introduced to three inspiring individuals—Lam from Vietnam, Toefuatu-iga from Samoa, and Irene from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Thanks to the generosity of others and donations to Project Compassion, their lives have been transformed for the better.

Our students have eagerly embraced the call to Unite Against Poverty, generously contributing to their class collection boxes. One particularly generous Year 4 student even donated $50 from his own savings!

The campaign will continue until next week, when all funds will be sent to Caritas Australia. It’s truly rewarding to be part of a project that teaches children the power of individual kindness while showing them that when we come together through Project Compassion, small acts of generosity can create something even greater. Our kindness multiplies, and by uniting with each other—and with those in need—we can spark BIG, lasting change.
