Volunteer Inductions Moving Online

We are excited to announce that during Term 2, the Volunteer Induction Process will move to an online format. This change will allow our volunteers to complete the required induction at their own convenience. We will provide information on accessing the online induction as more details become available.

As part of this induction, all volunteers - including parents, grandparents, friends and caregivers who currently assist or plan to assist at the school - will need to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC). The WWCC is free for volunteers and can be applied for at Working with Children Check | vic.gov.au. You can apply for a WWCC prior to completing the online induction.

Sacramental Program 2025

Expression of Interest: Sacramental Program 2025

We are excited to share on behalf of the St Augustine’s Parish, the commencement of the St Augustine’s Sacramental Program for 2025.

An Information Evening

will be held (for parents and children) on

Wednesday 30th April 2025

in St Augustine’s Church Kyabram

commencing at 6.30 pm.

This year St Augustine’s Parish will be offering the following Sacraments on the dates set out below:

  • The Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion will be celebrated on the weekend of 20th and 21st September, 2025.

Please note, children need to be in Year 3 or above to commence the Sacramental Program. Children must be baptised in the Catholic Church in order to participate in the Parish Sacramental Program.

If your child is not baptised and wishes to receive these sacraments or if your family would like further information about becoming Catholic, please contact our Pastoral Assistant, Mrs Mary Zobec at the Parish Office on 5852 1026.

Expression of Interest

To support the Parish to prepare adequate resources for the Information Evening families were asked to indicate their intention to attend by 2nd April. If you have not responded to the Operoo, we ask you to do this as soon as possible.

Any questions relating to the 2025 Sacramental Program can be directed to Mary Zobec at the Parish Office on 5852 1026 (Tuesdays and Thursdays only) or Kylie McGlade at St Augustine's College on 5851 3000.

Communicating with Staff

We have had the privilege of meeting with parents and connecting with families on various occasions across the Term. At St Augustine’s College, we deeply value these opportunities to strengthen our partnerships and work together in support of our students. We recognise that parents are the first educators of their children and play a vital role in shaping their behaviours, both positive and challenging. Open and honest communication is key to fostering a supportive school environment and we are grateful for a parent community that shares our commitment to nurturing each child’s growth and development.

We ask that parents engage in conversations with our staff with respect, trust in our processes and support the follow-up actions necessary for their child’s development and wellbeing. Similar expectations exist in many other organisations and by working together with mutual respect and understanding, we can continue to provide a safe, positive and thriving learning environment for all.

Our staff are on site and available during the following times:

Monday:  8:30am - 3:45pm

Tuesday: 8:30am - 4:30pm

Wednesday: 8:30am - 4:30pm

Thursday: 8:30am - 3:45pm

Friday: 8:15am - 3:45pm

However, whilst these are the working times, our staff are busy organising and planning lessons, teaching classes and/or engaged in relevant staff meetings. We ask that if you wish to make contact with your child’s teacher, please contact your child’s TA for a meeting.

Communication via email is also appropriate during work hours, however please allow staff up to 48 hours to respond. We thank you for your consideration in this matter.
