Update to Our School Newsletter Schedule and Format

We are making a few changes to how we share news with our school community!

We heard feedback from several families through the survey open to our school community toward the end of last year expressing they felt the newsletter was too long and repetitive. So, starting next term, our school newsletter will move from a fortnightly schedule to three editions per term. This change will allow us to focus on sharing richer, more meaningful content that celebrates learning, highlights key events, and keeps families informed in a more streamlined way.

Along with this new schedule, we’ll be adjusting how communication is shared on Compass. For example, you will be able to find information about important dates on our Compass Calendar; and storage of information sent home in the folder under School Documents on the Compass app.

We hope this new approach helps make it even easier to stay connected with what’s happening across the school.

As always, we welcome your feedback as we trial this new format.

Important Reminder: Changes to Pick-Up Arrangements

We kindly ask all families to please notify the Front Office if there are any changes to your child's pick-up arrangements during the school day.

To ensure we can communicate these changes effectively to the staff on duty at Kiss and Drop, we ask that you contact the Front Office before 3:00pm if someone other than the child’s parents/legal guardians are collecting them. This allows us enough time to share the information with staff on duty and make sure your child is departing safely with authorised adults at the end of the school day.

Your support in helping us keep the end-of-day routine smooth and safe for everyone is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for your cooperation.

Toys at School

We ask that students please do not bring toys to school unless they are specifically needed for news talks or there has been prior consultation between the Inclusive Education Coordinator or the class teacher and the parent/caregiver. This helps minimize distractions and ensures a focused learning environment for all students.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

End of Daylight Savings

This weekend is the end of Daylight Savings, we hope you enjoy the extra hour as you set your clocks back overnight Saturday.

This is a good opportunity to remind families to please arrive at school after 8.30am. Staff participate in devotions each morning and get ready for the day and are ready to supervise your child when classrooms open at 8.30am. Thank you for supervising your child until the start of our school day. OSHC is available on those days where your child needs to arrive earlier than 8.30am.

End of Term Reminders

  • Last day of term, Thursday 10th April with a 2pm early dismissal.
  • Friday 11th April, Student Free Day (OSHC available). Please contact OSHC directly if you need to make a booking.

CSA Election Forums

With the 2025 Federal Election approaching, Christian Schools Australia (CSA) are inviting parents, staff and supporters to join them at the South Australian Christian Schools Election Forum on Tuesday 29th April, 7.00 - 8.30pm at Tyndale Christian School, Salisbury East. Local candidates and current members of parliament will be in attendance representing the major parties.

CSA will be highlighting the issues important to Christian schools and articulating the election commitments they are seeking from all sides of politics. Put simply, these commitments are:

  • Freedom for Faith
  • Focus on Flourishing
  • Fairness in Funding.

These forums aim to inform people about the key issues impacting Christian education and how they can advocate for faith, flourishing, and funding in the upcoming election. This event is non-partisan in nature; CSA will not be telling people how to vote, but will be explaining the three election commitments that impact the ability of Christian schools to effectively operate into the future.

Pilgrim Performing Arts Captains

We have held an election process and are pleased to announce the following Year 6 students have been selected as the 2025 Pilgrim Performing Arts Captains:

  • Charlize
  • Hannah
  • Emilie
  • Leo

Congratulations to these students! They will be providing leadership in the Pilgrim Choir as well as in other music and performing arts areas.

Scripture Union Primary Aged Club (SUPA Club)

Would you be inserted in volunteering once a week to help be part of an inter-church after school SUPA Club working with Scripture Union. There is a need for more team members and especially someone who could take a lead with this group.

This is an opportunity for a Campus kids club that will be open to students from Nativity, Thiele and Pilgrim Schools. The club will include games, food, craft, stories and sharing a Christian message.

Are you able to commit to giving a Tuesday afternoon from 3 to 5pm once a week? The hope is to start the club for Term 3.

If you are interested, could you please contact Chris Battistuzzi from Scripture Union.

Pilgrim School Musical: Save the Date

We will have two evening performances (at 6.30pm) of our school musical at the end of next term. Please put Wednesday 2nd July and Thursday 3rd July in your diary now.

More details will follow and we will add a link in the 'Favourites' tile of Compass to our Musical News for all the latest information sent home to families this week. This will be a useful link to keep bookmarked so you can return to it for future reference.

Belong and Blossom Playgroup

Belong and Blossom occurs on an option of Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.00am - 10.45am, during term time of school. To register please contact the Front Office, so you can receive our weekly emails letting you know about the week ahead.

This is a time to connect with other parents and for your child to begin their connection with Pilgrim and some of the teachers in the Early Years team. We have story, craft and play times. We share fruit together and end our session with a story and some songs.
