He Is Risen! – Celebrating the Hope of Easter
Dear Pilgrim Families,
Luke 24: 1 - 8
Jesus Has Risen
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.
As we approach Easter, we are reminded of the most powerful message of hope, joy, and new life in the Bible: Jesus is alive!
In Luke 24, we read the incredible story of the women who went to Jesus' tomb early in the morning, only to find the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. At first, they were confused and frightened. But then, two angels appeared and said, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” What amazing news!
Jesus' resurrection reminds us that even in the darkest moments, God's light shines through. The disciples were heartbroken after Jesus’ death, but everything changed when they discovered He was alive. On the road to Emmaus, two followers of Jesus were walking and talking about all that had happened. A stranger joined them — and later, as He broke bread with them, they realised it was Jesus! Their hearts were filled with joy and wonder, and they rushed back to share the good news with others.
Easter is a time where we reflect on this life-changing event. It teaches us that:
- God keeps His promises – Just as Jesus said He would rise, He did.
- We are never alone – Jesus walks with us, just as He did with His followers on the road.
- New life is possible – Through Jesus, we are given hope, forgiveness, and a fresh start.
Let us celebrate this Easter with thankful hearts, remembering the empty tomb and the joy it brings. Jesus is alive — and that changes everything!
Wishing all our families a joyful and hope-filled Easter.
He is risen! He is risen indeed!
