School Council President

Our School Council meeting on 26 March covered a wide range of topics, including the very positive results of the recent School Review, progress toward the School Strategic Plan for 2025 - 2028, updates from all the good work happening in our Council subcommittees, risk assessment for Grade 6 Camp, review of the Annual Report for 2024 and Childsafe training.

Junior School Council Presentation

A highlight of our meeting was an inaugural presentation from three of our Junior School Councillors: Jed, Issy  and Amelia from year 6.  It is the first time that any of the staff or parent members can recall JSC being included in the School Council process and is another positive step in providing students with greater voice in the running of their school.  We look forward to continuing to integrate the views of JSC into the council process and congratulate Jed, Issy and Amelia for the confidence they showed in addressing a room full of adults in a formal setting.

School Review

Congratulations to our leadership team and staff for the success of our recent School Review.  Mark and Pam have written about the process at length in recent newsletter updates so I just want to take this opportunity to thank our team for their commitment to what was a very in depth and time consuming process. As someone who was more of an observer, I can assure the School community that the review process was of a high quality run by strong, experienced representatives of the Department of Education and that our School is performing extremely well across a broad metrics. The robustness of the process will ensure the goals and focus of the school over the next four years is well targeted and has been well considered.

Finally, thank you to our entire school community for a great start to the year.  It feels like a lot has been achieved already and I look forward to continuing the momentum over the next three terms.  As always, if you have any questions, feel free to get in touch hamish.wood@education.vic.gov.au
