WOW!!! What week it's been at St Louis'! One of the highlights was definitely our visit from Andrew Chinn to help us celebrate St Louis' 60th Birthday. He spent about an hour with each of the levels singing, involvng and engaging all the students in praising God. His ability to remember so many names was like a super-power. In the afternoon, he ran a whole school concert with the help of our wonderful school choir. The way he brought it all together and got the students motivated is a true gift. Thank you to the parents and grandparents who attended the concert and donated over $120 for Caritas' Project Compassion.
Big thank you to Mrs Eva Traynor who on Thursday afternoon, along with the Fire Carriers, presented our new Fire Carriers with their badges whilst they pledged to uphold the spirit of the Fire Carrier to ignite reconciliation through education and support our First Nations people.
On Friday, the School captains and the Faith and Social Justice Leaders traveled by train to the city to participate in the Catholic Education Week Celebrations starting with mass at St Patrick's Cathedral followed by a concert and activities in the park. Zane and Ava braved the rainy weather to be our banner bearers and processed in to the sound of the bagpipes, with the banner bearers of almost 300 other catholic schools. A new icon of St Patrick was also revealed and blessed at this mass. The sthdents were very respectful and reverent and represented our school with pride.
On Friday 4th April, our students will be participating on a Water Relay to raise money for Project Compassion. All students have brought home a sponsor sheet to collect sponsors for this event.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
