Dear Saltwater Community,
Welcome Back to Term Two, Week Two!
It’s with great joy and enthusiasm that we welcome you back after the term break! As the golden hues of autumn settle in, we are reminded of the beauty in change — crisp mornings, falling leaves, and fresh opportunities for learning and connection. We’re excited to embark on another term filled with curiosity, growth, and achievement, and we look forward to working in partnership with you to support your child’s learning journey.
On Good Friday, students from Saltwater P-9 College had the privilege of joining the Werribee Fire Brigade - CFA in support of the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Our students showed exceptional responsibility and leadership, bravely enduring the warm weather as they collected much-needed funds for vital care and equipment at the Royal Children's Hospital. Their perseverance and dedication were truly inspiring.
A big congratulations to both the students and teachers for their outstanding participation in this initiative. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school and are thrilled to announce that their efforts helped raise an impressive $3983.95 for this important cause. The total collected by the Werribee Fire Brigade on the day was $53,609.40.
We would also like to thank the parents who participated on the day, along with staff; Mrs Goegan, Mr Peterson, Mr Nicolaides, Ms Grenfell, Ms Daniali, Ms Morison and Ms Vines.
On Thursday, 24th April, our school community came together for a moving and respectful, virtual ANZAC Day service. Students gathered within their classes and year levels to remember and honour the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who landed at Gallipoli in 1915 and the many service men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our nations.
Our students created beautiful wreaths, listened to The Ode and The Last Post, and observed a minute of silence to reflect and pay their respects. Some students also shared powerful poems inspired by the ANZAC legacy. The ceremony prompted meaningful classroom discussions around courage, sacrifice, and the importance of remembrance.
We were lucky to have Hugo Gibson’s Dad, Michael, come in to tell us about his experiences in the navy. He talked about the importance of ANZAC day and how to be respectful. We appreciate his time to come and share with our students.
Lest We Forget.
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming school photos session, scheduled during the upcoming month of May.
