Sport

With the end of Term 2, and the start of this term busy with events, our representative athletes have been very active. Our Soccer, Netball and Badminton teams competed well, managing to send through a combined 6 teams to the next Gippsland level of competition. The eagerness of our students to strive for success, at these events, is infectious and with a quality our College is proud of throughout the Interschool sports programmes.

Our Athletics day was postponed due to very wet conditions, allowing the school to host it in perfect sunshine and no wind, a week later. A great turnout from the very cheerful and super fit students made for a very successful Carnival. 76 students now have the opportunity to compete at the East Gippsland level, challenging themselves to possibly progress to Gippsland level. Thank you to all the staff who made this fun day run smoothly.

A very wet and boggy Yarra Valley Racetrack was tough going for our 5 State Cross Country competitors, last Thursday 18th July. Ahren (12-13), Kailee (15), Rita (16), Campbell and Patrick (17-20) all battled their nerves, and the elements, very professionally. In large waves of nearly 100 athletes per age group, all finished close to middle of the field, covered in mud and wearing a big smile on their face, having accomplished personal success.
