Executive Team News

With Violeta Dellidis, Karen Jackson, Brooke Gillis, Kate Newitt, and Dale Thompson

It is hard to believe the end of term is fast approaching and we are half way through the school year. This term has been filled with many camps, incursions, excursions and learning. A big thank you to our staff who put a lot of time and effort into making these events happen and to our students for their engagement and behaviour they displayed reflecting our school values.

As this is the final newsletter of the term we would like to wish our students, staff and their families a safe and enjoyable school holiday break. Enjoy this time reconnecting with each other and preparing for another busy term ahead.

Exams

Year 8 and 9 exams across the areas of English and Math will be taking place in Week 11 of this term. The exam period will provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding and practise skills that are vital for their later years of schooling. All results will be provided to students and families early in Term 3. A big thank you to Ms Jade Rapley for organising this exam period.

It is time to go shopping!

The School Wide Positive Behaviour Shop will be open on Monday 24 June and Tuesday 25 June. The students have been collecting their 4R awards all term so they are super excited to get in there and see what they may purchase!

Coffee and Chat

Our next “Coffee and Chat” session will be held on Monday 17 June and is open to all parents and guardians who wish to attend. The aim of these sessions is to provide parents and guardians with an opportunity to get to know the leaders of the College, share ideas and suggestions, and also ask any general questions they may have about the school or wish to know more about.

Fundraising success

This term we have held both our annual Bunnings BBQ in Caroline Springs, and also a Pyjama Day at the School to raise funds for our SWPBS Initiative. We raised over $4000 thanks to all of the support of the staff, students, families and local community members who came along and purchased a sausage. A huge thank you to Abi Smith for her support in organising both of these events.

Year 6 tops

This year the Year 6 students had the opportunity to purchase a commemorative top to keep as a memory of their final primary school year at Brookside. The Year 6 students received their tops this week and are proudly wearing them. They look great!
