Dear Parents,

Stage 3 Excursion

On Wednesday morning, 114 students and 8 staff set out for Canberra. Their three days of fun and learning began with a visit to Parliament House and the Electoral Education Centre, where they learned about Australia's unique democratic and electoral systems. Today, students are visiting the Museum of Democracy and finishing their day at the Australian War Memorial. We know these three days will be filled with memories that will last a lifetime.  Thank you to Mrs Abbott for coordinating the excursion, MIss Reedy for assisting and Mr Thackray, Miss Lloyd, Miss Barber, Mrs Burns, Mrs Mooney and Mr Summerson for all their hard work over the three days.  We can't wait to hear all of the stories!

Upcoming Stage 2 Excursion

Next week, on Tuesday, 2nd July, Stage 2 will be off to Sydney to explore the historic precinct around The Rocks. Students will visit The Big Dig—Dirt Detectives Education program and explore the area's history. Students will leave Bathurst Public School at 6:30 a.m. and return at 8:00 p.m. Details of the excursion are in the Sentral Parent Portal.

Semester 1 Reports

Student reports were sent home with students on Tuesday. Although parent-teacher meetings are scheduled for Term 3, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher if you have any questions about the report. Our aim is to work closely with parents to ensure the learning needs of all students are supported.

Lost Property

It's that time of year again when our lost property bin is creeping up to overflowing. If your child has lost clothing, please don't hesitate to look through the lost property. The clothing will be sorted out on Wednesday next week. All items with names will be returned to students, and all unnamed items will be collected, washed, and recycled into our Clothing Pool.

State Rugby League Championship

Last week, Max, Archer, and Cruz represented the Western Region in the Under 11's State Rugby League Championship, held at St Mary's. The boys had 1 win from 6 games, with each game very close and the team unlucky not to win more of them. All three of our football players were outstanding during the tournament, up against some of the best in the state. And they were amongst those who stood out, with each of them named Player of the Match in one of their 6 games! A special congratulations to Max, who was named Captain of the side - another wonderful achievement.

Girls Basketball

The Girl's Basketball team played against South Bathurst this week and, unfortunately, went down 22-14. Under pressure in attack and defence, the team fought hard for the ball in every play. It was an extremely close game right up until the end, when South got a few quick consecutive goals. Our parents and friends' cheer squad were living every play with us, with great encouragement and support for the whole game. Mrs Francis was so very proud of the way the girls conducted themselves, showing great team support for each other and calm and fair play. Congratulations on a great game, girls, and thank you, Mrs Francis, for your coaching.

Boys Basketball

The Boys' basketball team also played last Friday, losing to Eglinton by eight points. The game was hard-fought, with the boys giving everything they had. Unfortunately, we were just outplayed on the day. I am super proud of their effort and teamwork. Congratulations, boys, and thank you. Although the boys continued to show great teamwork and impressive moves, Eglinton outplayed them on the day.  Thanks to Mr Datt and Mr Hayes for coaching the team.
