Are you active enough?

All classes have either had or are currently having lessons in health about healthy choices and how to have a more active lifestyle. With the Olympics this term, we are delving deeper into it, and I am encouraging all students to be more active and spend less time being sedentary (long periods of sitting). Below is a video highlighting options or ideas on how to get them moving more and enjoying being active. Students between the ages of 5 and 12 need at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day and ideally, no more than 2 hours of screen time a day. Content covered in this video will be reinforced in PE when looking at setting goals to improve fitness. They can also set goals for home that are realistic and achievable. There are also tips in the literature from Australian Government Department of Health brochure.
