Sport Choices

Sport choices were completed on Monday by students in Years 7-10. Sport choices will commence Week 1 of Term 3. If there are any concerns with sport choices please encourage your child to speak with Mrs Tilse.

Athletics

On Friday 21 June, we held a very successful athletic carnival at the Bill Rose Oval in Scone. We were very fortunate with the weather with all events being completed. There were excellent performances achieved by a number of students.

Picking up students on Thursdays

If you need to pick up your child/children on Thursdays after 1pm, please advise the Front Office before 1pm by phone 6543 7444 or via email admin@aberdeen.catholic.edu.au , so your son/daughter can attend the non-sport room. With various sports off site, it is sometimes difficult and time consuming trying to locate students being picked up. If students wait in the non-sport room, it is much quicker to locate them and call them to the office for pick-up.

NNSW School Futsal Championships

Last Tuesday our U14 Girls futsal squad travelled to Maitland Basketball Stadium where they qualified for the NNSW Futsal (indoor soccer) Championships.

The best eight teams from the Central Coast, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Upper Hunter competed in a fast-paced competitive arena which saw us have a narrow loss to St Phillip's Newcastle, 3-0 loss to eventual champions Kotara and a great win 2-0 vs Henry Kendall HS.

The girls were wonderful ambassadors for the school and several were even targeted for representative honours later in the year both in Brisbane and internationally with overseas AFA Futsal tour groups.

Congratulations once again to all St Joseph’s Futsal Teams. We look forward to more competition next year.
